First there were three. Then there were six. Six episodes. Six stories. Three stories here collected. To complete the hexalogy. The six episodes thus far that have revealed the mass culmination of latest chapter in Town's history known simply as "The Vegetable Wars." The wars emerged from a yellow-green glow. A mysterious, venomous potion. That itself created, a vast, indestructible army. Vegetable soldiers led by a mad man. Vegetable soldiers who have ripped their way through our once peaceful town. Town, and all of its inhabitants cower in fear. Wondering just nefarious deeds evil will next bring near. And so, those of us still alive sit and wonder. Is there a way out? Is there a light at the end of this black, black darkness? So many questions, so few answers. Yet the story must go on. To witness another morning. To see another day. To fight beyond the tangles of vines, pulp and seed. To behold a savior. Our savior, the General and his great, strong army! Surely good shall prevail among all this evil that washes over the cobble streets. The places were all good folks gather to meet. Surely truth shall extinguish the maddening fires and return Town to its familiar ways again? Only time will tell. As the mysteries of the unknown continue to weave their spell.

Far off in the dark unknown. A mystery of wild intent is born. In a mist of a yellow-green glow. The hunger of the wild unknown continues to grow. Building its fires, beneath the mountain that divides the realms of good and of evil. The fires begin to consume the rock with flame. Burning. Melting. Destroying the vast temple that holds the secrets of both past and present without blame. A dark monolith dark resides within. A monolith teeming with evil, yet coupled with the shining light of goodness created from a time now long since spent. The fires of the unknown yearn to consume this place. And so the battle lines are drawn. One man good. One man evil. In their war, these two shall rip our Town apart, killing all the people who ever lived. Who ever dreamed. Who ever thought this Town could find peace again. There shall be no peace, as long as this great unknown continues to thrive. Lurking somewhere in the vast unconsciousness of each of our minds.

Down the quick and narrow. A place of darkness and death exists that is full of bloody bones and of marrow. In this dark and lonely place, live two men. Two men, alive, fighting for freedom amidst the sea of green tangles and roaring fires. Together, these men wade through the endless seas of green vine. Strangling. Tangling. Never finding a moment to unwind. The wicked vines wrap themselves around all who dare to raise arms against the vast vegetable army. The mad, mad scientist. Still, these free men, march on. Armed with a hoe. With a garbage can shield. And some mean weed whackers, Diomedes Zen and Odysseus Amadeus fight on. Raging through the blood. The pulp. Through the countless seeds of death and destruction. Everything is against these two men. Everything pushes them to the brink of oblivion. Yet, these two warriors fight on. For freedom! For justice! For hot women in chains everywhere! These warriors rage on!

From the bowels of earth and ash, the flames of evil are born from a spark of madness that itself, is torn from the fabric of all that is known. Madness of madness pursued with a vision so wicked, so devilish, that this world has never truly known the true face of evil that now is shown in the light of heat that grows and burns as agony, on the soils of this earth. As the fires rage. Nothing can contain the grinding, tearing, the insanity from the fires of tragedy that now consume this once peaceful town. It is from these fires, the hordes of soldiers, mutated and maligned arise. The blurred vision, choking, from the smoky flame remains etched in all those who've seen the frightening army born from these fires of the unknown. And as the vegetable hordes march on, carrying with them the violence and bloodshed only true madness can know, there are those who seek answers. Those who seek the origin of where all this chaos was born. Thus, this collection has been compiled. To answer the questions, to trace out the origin of this madness. The fiendishness of Mad Scientist shall no longer be concealed, as this Origins of Madness Volume 1 begins to reveal just how the nightmare of The Vegetable Wars and its mad king came to be.

From the fire and ash. From the burning flesh. Comes the day after the first great battle of the vegetables and the people of Town. In the streets before us, lies a deathly silence. The streets are strewn with victims. The houses are covered with blood. Meeker eyes turn away. But this narrator urges you to look on. Do not turn your gaze to a brighter day. Witness the horror first hand. The quiet horror of the day after the day the mighty vegetables came our way. The horrible vegetable armies. The grotesque visages of a familiar mutated form, the vegetables form the mighty ranks, controlled by the despotic reign of Mad Scientist. This great vegetable phalanx, unleashed onto the world through Mad Scientist's evil plan, the vegetables took siege to the unsuspecting world around. People lay victim. Others, wounded, imprisoned. Such is the horror witnessed in the morning after. Continue this journey. Meet the aftermath head on! All in this morning, broken, by the sounds wailing out of all those injured, bloodied, and utterly disarmed.
